William Ray Brown writes techno-thrillers rooted in real government research. The questions that drive every book started a long time before the first page. I was heavily interested in mathematics as a child. Physics has been my framework. And consciousness is what neither can explain despite our best efforts. Thousands of hours spent in the space between what the equations say and what they refuse to say.

The books that come out of that inquiry are not invented. They are heavily researched. Real patent filings and declassified CIA documents. Retrocausality studies that did not make it into the textbooks. The conspiracy in these pages is never my idea. I just follow the documents to where they actually lead.

The Malech patent exists. US3951134. Filed in 1974. Approved by the United States Patent Office and sitting in the public record ever since. That is the starting point of the Mars series.

The thread connecting all of it, Mars, simulation theory, and quantum physics, provides a single question that has never been answered to satisfaction: what exactly is consciousness, who has access to it, and what happens when someone else holds the key. My books are the attempt to find out those keys and hand them back to you. The rabbit hole goes quite far down. I'll extend the ladder.
